Who?

For youth ages 14 to 18 years old. We are limited to 50 youth and space is limited! Apply soon!

What will you experience at the retreat?

This retreat is designed for you to learn and explore who you are as a leader.

  • What motivates you to lead;
  • What leadership styles best suits you and the community in which you lead; and
  • Why do you lead?

How much?

This retreat is free! Major funding provided by Minnesota State Colleges & Universities and the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund

When?

Friday, June 17, 2011 to Wednesday, June 22, 2011

  • Drop-off at the Council on Friday, June 17 at 12:00pm
  • Pick-up at the Council on Wednesday, June 22 at 5:00pm

A charter bus will transport us to and from the camp.

Leadership workshops

Public Speaking

Learn and practice how to develop your presence in front of a crowd and how to build your interpersonal skills from a professional.

Debate on important issues

Debate is an interactive tool used in many forms. Develop an argument and follow through with counter-arguments.

Mock Elections for Youth Governor

Take this chance to voice your opinions and run for candidacy as our Youth Governor.

Mock Legislative Committee Hearing

Simulate a mock legislative environment where students will role-play as mock legislators, committee members, testifiers, and lobbyists.

College Readiness

College is just around the corner. Get ready for university with tips on how to interview, write personal statements, and become aware of your surroundings with tips on protecting yourself on campus.

Arts and Culture Workshops

Performance Arts

Find different ways to express yourself.
