Britain?s Rachel Cawthorn reached the final of the women?s sprint kayak with an impressive display yesterday and then revealed her intriguing pre-race preparations. Afterwards the Guildford-based kayaker revealed how her unusual pre-race tactics had helped her to become a medal contender at London 2012. ?Before the race I do a couple of headstands,? she explained. ?Everything is planned out to the last minute. ?I just do a bit of pilates before I go because it is part of my routine. It switches on my core and prepares me to go out.? However, elsewhere at the Windsor course, GB?s Louisa Sawers and Abigail Edmonds failed to reach the final of the women?s double kayak, having just made the semi-finals as the sixth of the seventh pairings.
